Sidi Harazem Exhibition

Sidi Harazem:The Genesis of a Modern Oasis was an exhibition to display the research on Sidi Harazem’s conservation management and its potential for adaptive reuse, made possible by Getty’s Keeping it Modern Grant. The exhibition, which was held in Rabat, invited members of the public as well as important stakeholders from government and industry to learn about the unlocked potential of sensitive conservation management and cultural development in Morocco. Three modules--past, present, and future, framed the complex histories of the site, which included the history of the ancient thermal springs, Zevaco’s iconic complex design (and the resulting displacement of the local population), the conservation strategy for the site, as well as feedback from participatory design workshops with the site’s many community stakeholders.
