El Menzel Agricultural Center

El Menzel is a small rural town located in the Province of Sefrou, amid the High Atlas mountain range. ACP was commissioned by the Ministry of Agriculture to design a training center for agricultural technicians as well as rooms to host the teachers. The project site was located inside the precinct of an existing school, facing a beautiful grid of olive tree grove.

The existing grid was a major influence on the design. The plan is formed by staggered rooms, creating separate units following the logic of the olive tree grid. Other programs (conference room, administration, cafeteria, kitchen) were consolidated in a one storey communal building. Each room has a large window that also acts as a seat, facing towards the scenic rows of olive trees.
