Concept Videos
Aziza Chaouni Projects often uses concept videos to communicate ideas to the local population, combining visuals, text, and auditory components for maximum accessibility. Videos are an effective way of engaging community stakeholders, as they can be easily shared and discussed through social media platforms.
Dessine Moi Une Ville
Interviews with locals, and especially minority groups are often conducted to voice concerns and evaluate the performance of workshops. This video of Alae, a 12 year old girl from Laâyoune, shows her talking about her participation in the collage workshop conducted in her city, as well as her opinion on the general state of its public spaces. The video was widely distributed through social media and was successful in convincing Laâyoune citizens to consider the perspectives of the children in communities when evaluating the design and social value of their public spaces.
Noumea North Entrance Masterplan
The masterplan of Noumea proposes to transforms the only gate into the city into a dynamic cultural centre and public space. ACP’s study of the site revealed that the entrance was a no man’s land composed of a large abandoned hospital, its parking lot, and an expressway. The site required a series of interventions to address its location at the intersection of multiple transportation systems, its adjacent to a commercial and touristic harbor, and its relationship to an abandoned hospital.

The ACP team used a short animation to show the before and after conditions of the site, highlighting each urban move step-by-step; the creation of a new waterfront, the reactivation of the hospital with new cultural programs, the creation of a footbridge, an the introduction of a botanical garden and a visitors’ terminal in the port. ACP used the plan of the site as a background and selected very simple graphics to make the complex transformation of the site easily understood by several demographics. Zineb Tazi helped to develop the animation.
Yarmouk Playground
This video of the Yarmouk playground Project uses a model of the site to create an interactive narrative for viewers, especially children, who are the main target users of this project. The main character, “Miss Two Fingers”, a pair of fingers traveling across the model, presents and communicates the main playground ideas to children, parents and teachers. Five broad categories of games are presented in the video to provide a clear understanding of the playground program; so that children could vote on the games they liked from each game category.
