Les Transculturelles Des Abattoirs
November 5th, 2012

Bureau E.A.S.T. curated the architecture component of the first contemporary art exposition in Les Abattoirs de Casablanca, the former slaughterhouse complex in the city of Casablanca. Other exhibits included video installations, sculpture, dance performances, music concerts, plays, and street art. For one year, Les Abattoirs de Casablanca will become a vast arts and culture exhibition complex, hosting a wide range of performances including art and video installations, dance, plays and concerts. The hope is for these long-neglected buildings to be transformed into an urban core devoted to the arts and filled with exhibition spaces, artists’ studios, public plazas, and gardens. If the event is a success, it may serve as a catalyst for significant changes. Exhibits by Atelier Bow Wow, Office dA, KLF/ Emergent, Interboro Partners, Kilo, Eric Ellingsen, and Bureau E.A.S.T.
