Dar Belghit

Built in the XVII century, the house once belonged to the Sultan Moulay Hafid from the Alaoui dynasty who ruled Morocco from 1908 to 1912. Located in Zqaq El Bgal, an area in the historic Medina of Fez known for housing several dignitaries.A 12 room luxury guesthouse, Dar Belghit will offer one Sultan Suite, 4 Suites Deluxe, and 7 double rooms. The guesthouse will demarcate itself from the other medina guesthouses by following an adaptive re-use form of rehabilitation and an ecologically conscious approach featuring a landscape with native plants that consume small amounts of water, stored run-off rainwater used to water the garden, grey water recycling, low flush toilets, solar heated guesthouse water, as well as providing pamphlets for guests and tourists, outlining the ecological features of the guesthouse (including organic food and produce in the restaurant, organic beauty products in the spa and organic linens).
