Aziza Chaouni named one of the Toronto Star
The Toronto Star has named Daniels Assistant Professor Aziza Chaouni one of its “People to watch in the GTA” in 2012.
The article, written by Christopher Hume, sites Chaouni’s interest in Toronto’s laneway system, her efforts to re-make one of Toronto’s old grocery stores into a gastropub, and her work with ecotourism projects in Morocco, where she was born. Chaouni recently helped launched a new website for Designing Ecological Tourism (DET), which showcases the findings of collaborative research investigating the challenges faced by ecotourism in the developing world. DET brings together faculty members from the University of Toronto and Ryerson University, as well as international experts, local stakeholders, government officials, and graduate students.
