Aziza Chaouni will chair a session topic @ ACSA 2014
Aziza Chaouni will chair a session at the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) 102nd Annual Meeting April 10-12, 2014. The session is entitled “Teaching Paradigm for Global Practice: Research Studios in the Developing World,” and the ACSA is now accepting papers on this topic.
This ACSA Annual Meeting serves as a forum for reflection and discussion that relates to the meeting theme through research, scholarship, and design explorations. The 102nd Annual Meeting will be held at the Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach and is co-chaired by John Stuart and Mabel Wilson.
This session is seeking papers that: 1) investigate the genealogy of the research studio, its relationship to global practice in general and the Developing World in particular; and 2) analyze and critique the pedagogical model of the research studio, its propensity and strategies to introduce students to global practice, and the challenges it faces.
